Brixly was inspired by LEGO, featuring an interlocking mechanism that allows our design to attach to itself rather than requiring additional materials.
Brixly aims to help involuntarily displaced residents after natural disasters by providing quick shelter in times of need while using sustainable materials for construction. In contrast to traditional brick designs, our product consists of plastic waste from landfills and natural disaster sites plus natural fibers, helping solve two world problems at once.
We are designing Brixly to meet and exceed traditional building codes. Here are the structural benchmarks Rebuild is targeting.
Our goal is to design Brixly to match standard commerical codes, and to slot seamlessly into existing architectural specs without requiring new structural engineering plans.
By utilizing 100% upcycled plastic and materials, we aim to drastically lower the high carbon footprint of standard construction manufacturing that emits greenhouse gases into our atmosphere.
Since natural disaster sites are all over Texas, we source our materials locally. We partner with local businesses to distribute Brixly toward rehabilitation crisis locations nearby.
